Venue: My backyard Location: La Habra Summary: This year I loved the idea of setting up a casual Mother's Day brunch in my backyard. And what is a brunch, without Mimosas?! I refurbished my older kids' lemonade stand and made it into my own "Mom-osa" bar! Fresh OJ, and orange slices, for garnish, were set out for the guests to help themselves. I kept the desserts at a minimum, and made it a simple spread by going to the store for all the treats. I set out powdered donuts on cute, yellow striped straws, cupcakes, yellow tulip snack cakes, and banana pudding rolls - both from Little Debbie. The desserts were set up on an antique dresser that I painted white. I also took the mirror, and painted it with chalkboard paint. The tablescape was done in pretty shades of yellow & blue. I put a simple centerpiece together by adding artificial flowers from IKEA, to a beautiful milk glass pitcher that I picked up from my local Goodwill store for only $2.99 For each guest, I set out cute yellow boxes, and put a special gift inside. I found darling flower kits in the dollar section of Target, and placed each one inside of yellow favor boxes that I found at Michael's. {just a little something for my guests to take home}. A simple + casual setting in the backyard, yummy treats, and delicious mimosas are a great way to celebrate with your Moms!
