Venue: My house Location: North Carolina Summary: Carter has always loved Christmas and everything about it! He dresses up and plays Santa all year long. When choosing his birthday theme, he decided he wanted a “Santa party.” We turned the entire house into Santa’s workshop! I wanted to make sure it was vibrant with a modern twist. When Santa rang our doorbell, Carter’s joy was priceless! The room was full of Christmas spirit! Santa & Mrs. Claus greeted the birthday boy, sang songs, read books, took photos and played with the children. The party decorations were set up to resemble the workshop including toys, wrapped gifts and wrapping supplies. The desserts included a large candy buffet bookshelf with chocolate workshop tools, Grandma’s decorated sugar cookies, incredible “Naughty or Nice” 3D book sugar cookies, Santa’s toy bag cake (inspired by the Pottery Barn Kid’s Santa bag), cupcakes, ornament cake pops, snow (cotton candy), ice cream and a cocoa bar. The favors were in mini red gable boxes tied with bakers twine. They included a craft kit to make a countdown calendar, elf shaped ring pops and a holiday ornament. The tables were decorated with Kraft paper and Christmas crayons for the kids to color while waiting for their visit with Santa. We had holiday photo props for silly pictures. Some of the unique decorations included a handcrafted Christmas train mailbox for letters to Santa, photo props, a tulle wreath, stamped wooden spoons and an ornament shaped banner strung with bakers twine. The menu consisted of muffins, Quiche, Krispy Kreme donuts, milk, and juices. I absolutely adored how the toy bag cake turned out! This was the greatest way to start the holiday season!
