Summary:
My sister was married in May of 2014 and I had the pleasure of being her maid-of-honor so, of course, I had to throw her a top notch bridal shower! Her wedding colors were black, white, and mint so I wanted to incorporate those along with pink as an additional accent color. She also loves to bake, so a baking themed shower was an obvious choice.

When guests entered the venue they were greeted with a canvas welcome sign, a dress form dolled up in a coordinating apron that was made by my mother, and over-sized milk bottles filled with hot pink ranunculus flowers.

The cake was inspired by the black and white striped aprons. My mother also made smaller versions of the apron so we could use them as accents in the room. Stacked mixing bowls and various color coordinated baked goods added to the overall baking theme of the event.

The event space was on the small side and we had just enough seats for all of the guests so I assigned tables. It was important to me that everyone was able to sit with someone they knew so they were comfortable. Each guest received a wooden spoon with a gift tag that read, ” Bake with love”. The table centerpieces were black ceramic kitchen utensil canisters filled with hot pink ranunculus flowers.

As my sister was opening gifts we played ‘ Bridal Shower BINGO’. If you’re not familiar, the game is similar to BINGO, but each guest fills out a card with gifts they think the bride-to-be will receive. As she opens her gifts you mark off the boxes on your card until you complete BINGO (5 boxes in a row). We passed out bottles of wine and the centerpieces as prizes to the first few guests who completed ‘BINGO’.
