Summary:
For my son's 5th birthday, we planned a Dr. Seuss party. We wanted everything very whimsical and Seuss-ish. The focal points of the main table included the wooden signs from the book One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish that were made by Jennifer Endsley. I made the truffula trees with styrofoam disks, feather boas, broken limbs and terra cotta pots and they turned out so realistic. The food filled apothecary jars were also an eye catcher. I made the turquoise table cloth with yellow and green pom pom balls. The names of the food were cleverly planned out and centered around Dr. Seuss books or things that were found in the books. I used a candy mold to make yellow Lorax mustaches that the kids truly enjoyed and made great pictures. These were displayed using a real Cat in the Hat hat. Of course, there was green eggs and ham that the children adored. We had the cutest red velvet cake push pops that were striped to look like the Cat in the Hat and topped with blue cotton candy to resemble Thing 1 and 2 hair. The amazing and delicious cake was made by the bakery at Super 1 Foods. We had photo props, such as Thing 1 and 2 hair, Cat in the Hat hat, and Lorax mustaches. The kids and adults alike enjoyed taking pictures and everyone had a wonderful time.
